Portia de Rossi: I Don’t Want Kids With Ellen DeGeneres

Though their relationship has endured lasted than most Hollywood marriages, Portia de Rossi and wife Ellen DeGeneres are making no plans to have children of their own.

“You have to really want to have kids, and neither of us did. So it’s just going to be me and Ellen and no babies,” de Rossi, 40, says in the latest issue of Out magazine.

The Arrested Development star, whose new pixie cut almost mimics the talk show host’s famous ‘do, adds that she never felt the pressure that many women feel to expand her family.

“There comes some pressure in your mid-30s, and you think, ‘Am I going to have kids so I don’t miss out on something that other people really seem to love? Or is it that I really genuinely want to do this with my whole heart?’ I didn’t feel that my response was ‘yes’ to the latter,” she explains.

“We’re the best of friends and married life is blissful, it really is,” she continues. “I’ve never been happier than I am right now.”

Likewise, DeGeneres, 55, feels the same way.

In February, the comedienne threw a big celebration for her partner’s 40th birthday, reenacting the actress’ life through a series of hilarious skits on her daytime talk show.

“I have to say that the last eight years of my life have been the happiest, best time ever. You make me so happy. I love you, happy birthday.” DeGeneres said to an emotional de Rossi.

The couple recently jetted off the de Rossi’s motherland of Australia to film episodes of Ellen.
