Incredible: Joe Andruzzi Displays Heroic Act Of Kindness After Boston Marathon Explosions
The football star, who played for the New England Patriots from 2000-2004, was photographed carrying an injured runner to safety on Monday.
Joe Andruzzi, a former offensive lineman for the New England Patriots, was photographed carrying a woman to safety on Monday after two bombs were set off near the finish line of the Boston Marathon.
Andruzzi was at the Marathon to raise money for his foundation, which assists cancer patients. He later released a statement, saying:
Marathon Monday should be about uplifting stories, personal challenges and fundraising milestones, but today's bombings irrevocably changed that. While I appreciate the interest in hearing our perspective on today's horrific events, the spotlight should remain firmly on the countless individuals -- first responders, medics, EMTs, runners who crossed the finish line and kept on running straight to give blood, and the countless civilians who did whatever they could to save lives. They were the true heroes. Our thoughts prayers go out to all those affected by this senseless tragedy.See this incredible act of generosity in the photo, above.
