'DWTS' Recap: Selena Gomez Serenades The Contestants
Ingo Rademacher and Kym Johnson are the first pair to land on the bottom. Just when I think it will be a predictable night, the next couple called to the chopping block is Victor Ortiz and Lyndsey Arnold. Whoa there. That means one of my favorite funny guys is safe. I thought for sure I’d see both D.L. Hughely and Andy Dick in the Bottom 3 tonight.
The Band Perry performs their latest hit, “Better Dig Two.” Great song, great band, and great accompanying dance. This night is off to a good start for sure.
After a weird video with Len Goodman and a very weird alien-themed performance from the pros, the encore dance is announced. Surprisingly, it’s not Zendaya and Mark Ballas, but Jacoby Jones and Karina Smirnoff.
It’s probably because the judges are tired of seeing Zendaya perform her dances twice each week. She’s always the best. I wish they would do away with this portion altogether. Once is enough.
Andy Dick is likely in trouble tonight thanks to last night’s sorry spin on the dance floor. Still, he’s hopeful he’ll stick around and form Team Pickler-Dick next week, when the celebrities compare in teams led by Kellie and Zendaya. Funny.
While the teams aren’t announced yet, the dances are. One team will dance the samba to Stevie Wonder’s “ Superstition.” The other team will perform the paso to his hit, “ Higher Ground.”
Superstar, Selena Gomez performs her single, “Come And Get It,” and its almost identical to her MTV Awards showing last weekend. Same song. Same outfit. Same bindi. Guess she’s not worried about those pesky religious groups and their cultural sensitivities.
The next round of results should be a doozey. Sean Lowe and pro partner, Peta Murgatroyd are in the clear along with Andy Dick and Sharna Burgess. I’m so relieved he’s staying around. Maybe the country is catching on to the same sparkle I see in the reformed bad boy. Team Pickler-Dick is still a possibility. Hooray!
That means D.L. is back on the bottom…probably where he belongs. He hasn’t been improving over the weeks, and his pitiful attempts are becoming more painful to watch. Besides, he’s been bad-mouthing the show since the beginning. If he’s not having fun, he should leave.
The comedian is looking pretty handsome as he awaits his fate. When he gets the bad news, he looks a bit relieved. He says hell only miss his partner, Cheryl Burke and teases Len about his “hip action” before making his graceful exit.
