Carey Mulligan Goes Androgynous For 'The Great Gatsby' Pre-Met Ball Screening
Joining Mulligan at the MOMA in New York City were Emma Roberts, Mark Sanchez and former Downton Abbey star, Dan Stevens.
Mulligan told the latest issue of Flaunt magazine that she was scared out of her knickers to take on the iconic role of Daisy Buchanan.
“This 'Gatsby' project inspires so much anger or passion from people," the Oscar nominee said. "Even British people don't get upset if you mess up an Austen adaptation, 'Oh that's fine, we've all done it.' But in America it's like, 'Don't f--k with Fitzgerald.'"
Baz Luhrmann's adaptation of the F. Scott Fitzgerald novel opens this Friday.
