‘SNL’ Recap: Kristen Wiig Returns With Target Lady, Ugly Duckling

Kristen Wiig’s Saturday Night Live family welcomed her back to Studio 8H with open arms, even though she couldn’t remember certain cast mates or her way around the halls.

“Even though I left the show only 11 months and 30 days ago, it really feels like it’s been a year,” she said in her opening monologue, before breaking into song.

The cameras then followed Wiig, who left the show last year after seven seasons, as she toured the studio, misidentified players and opened the door to her old dressing room (a closet), only to find Jonah Hill and SNL alum Maya Rudolph making out (they were “making a baby”).

The show, which featured Vampire Weekend as musical guests, celebrated Mother’s Day with a mock ad for 1-800-Flowers.

The return of Wiig also meant the return of some of her best characters, including Target Lady…

We heart you, Kristen Wiig.

SNL will wrap season 38 next week with host Ben Affleck and music from Kanye West.
