Christina Aguilera Is Coming Back to ‘The Voice’

Apparently, nobody at NBC realized that The Voice is doing just fine without Christina Aguilera, because sources tells Deadline the Grammy-winning singer will return for the show’s upcoming fifth season. Her replacement, Shakira, will depart.

Aguilera and fellow-Voice coach Cee Lo Green each took a break from this past season to work on their respective music careers. Their spots were filled by Shakira and Usher, each of whom managed to keep NBC’s biggest show afloat in the ratings.

But now Aguilera is coming back, it seems — and for good reason. The Hollywood Reporter says she’ll be making around $12 million to sit back in her swirling chair.

As for Green, The Wrap says he, too, is working on a deal to return. The show’s other two original judges, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, are also planning to return, according to the report.
