‘Downton Abbey’ Season 4 Has a Premiere Date

Doing anything on Jan. 5, 2014? Well, if you’re a fan of Downton Abbey, that means you’ll be plopped in front of the TV when PBS premieres the Emmy-winning show’s much-anticipated fourth season (here in the States, anyway; the show will premiere much earlier in the UK).

Absent, of course, will be Dan Stevens after that (can we say it now?) silly twist at the end of season 3. Gone, too, is Siobhan Finneran (aka O’Brien).

On the bright side: The show is adding a slew of new roles this season, played by actors like Tom Cullen (the cuter gay in Weekend) and Gary Carr, as Downton’s first black character.

Oh yeah: Shirley MacLaine will be back, too.
