Chris Pine and Jake Gyllenhaal Might Star in 'Into the Woods'
That is the question on everyone's minds today after Deadline reported the hunky and perpetually bearded actors are up for roles in the upcoming movie-musical adaptation of Into the Woods.
The roles up for grabs: Cinderella’s Prince and Rapunzel’s Prince, respectively, though it is unclear which role would go to which actor. (At the very least, we know they're good-looking enough to play princes.)
All eyes have been on Rob Marshall's much-anticipated take on Stephen Sondheim's beloved Broadway musical. Already, the project has landed Meryl Streep as The Witch, and Johnny Depp as The Wolf. Tony winner James Corden is said to be up for the coveted role of The Baker; Nina Arianda, another Tony winner, might get a part, too.
Whether or not this latest casting item will develop further remains unclear. But if it does, yeah, let's hope they can sing, because the last time Meryl Streep starred in a movie-musical, not everybody could.
