David Beckham Plays Last PSG Home Game: ‘It Was An Emotional Night’

Days after announcing his retirement from professional soccer, David Beckham played his last home game for Paris Saint Germain (PSG), the team that signed him five months ago.

The 38-year-old soccer star had plenty of family in the crowd, including his wife Victoria Beckham and their children Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper Seven.

Following the game, Beckham took to the field with his boys and waved to the adoring crowd.

“The emotion started kicking in, it was hard to run, let alone kick a ball,” Beckham said after the game. [via BBC]

“It was an emotional night, to see the reaction of the players, to see the reaction fo the fans when I came off, was special.”

Beckham, who was made team captain for Saturday’s game, and PSG beat Brest 3-1.

PSG’s last game of the season will be next weekend against Loreint, though it has not been confirmed if Beckham will be in the lineup.
