‘I Think I’m Doing a Pretty Good Job': Justin Bieber Gets Booed at the Billboard Music Awards
During his acceptance speech for the Milestone Award at last night’s Billboard Music Awards, Justin Bieber found himself in a familiar position: in front of a large group of people vocally expressing their extreme distaste for him. Bieber was booed as he accepted the award for his milestone, exactly what milestone the award commemorates remains unclear.
Bieber, who is a still a teenager and therefore has a lot of feelings, did not take the booing well. “I’m 19 years old. I think I’m doing a pretty good job,” Bieber said. In terms of shutting up the haters, his statement is certainly no “any questions.” “Basically, from my heart, I really just want to say, it should really be about the music, it should be about the craft, the craft that I’m making. This is not a gimmick,” he continued.
His pièce de résistance: “I’m an artist and I should be taken seriously, and all this other bull should not be spoken of.” Defensive, much?
