Neil Patrick Harris Heading For A Hosting EGOT, Will MC Emmy Awards

Is the world trying to get Neil Patrick Harris to host every single award show out there?

Not only is the How I Met Your Mother star hosting this year’s Tony Awards, but the actor will also be taking on MC duties at the 2013 Emmy Awards in fall.

“Four years ago, Neil was an amazing Emmy host and we are excited to have him back,” Bruce Rosenblum, the Television Academy chairman and CEO, announces in a statement. “Neil is an extremely gifted and inventive performer, and we look forward to seeing what he has in store this year.”

“I couldn’t be more honored and excited to be hosting this year’s Emmy Awards,” Harris, 39, adds. “And what perfect timing — I’ll just do the exact same script I’m about to use for the Tonys. ‘And the Emmy for Best Revival of a Musical goes to Breaking Bad!’ See, told you it works.”

The former child star is already a three-time Emmy winner for his guest roles on FOX’s Glee.

The Emmy Awards will broadcast live from the Los Angeles’ Nokia Theater on Sept. 22.
