‘I Feel Bad’ for Amanda Bynes, Says Former Child Star Rick Schroder
Even fellow former child stars agree — Amanda Bynes needs help. And stat.
The Nickelodeon star was recently arrested after allegedly throwing a bong out of her New York City apartment window, topping off several months of her spiraling out of control in the public eye with her wacky appearance, erratic ways, eyebrow-raising Twitter tirades and topless photos.
Now, on the heels of the Matilda actress Mara Wilson penning a thoughtful op-ed on surviving childhood stardom, another one-time child actress is speaking out about the troubles plaguing Bynes, 27, and the ever-embattled Lindsay Lohan, 26, who is currently serving a three-month, court-mandated rehab stint at the Betty Ford Center stemming from misdemeanor charges.
“My heart goes out to them,” Richard “Ricky” Schroder, who starred on ’80s series Silver Spoons in his teens, told ABC News Now. “I wish some people would intervene on their behalf.”
“They are in a place right now that is not good,” Schroder, 43, continued. “A lot of people around them don’t care about them and want to capitalize on it. I feel bad for them.”
Preach, Schroeder. Now, raise your hand if you’re willing to help. Bueller? Bueller?
