See 14-Year-Old Justin Timberlake As A Spelling Bee Loser
In celebrating this year's spelling competition, Scripps National Spelling Bee released a precious photo of the singer -- then 14 -- at the 1995 Memphis Commercial Appeal Spelling Bee.
According to the organization, the "Mirrors" crooner was eliminated from the competition when he misspelled "wharf," while another another contestant took it home by spelling "emerald" correctly.
A student at E.E. Jeter Elementary School, young Timberlake was also the president of the Beta Club, played basketball and, as his blurb stated, a "winner of local and national talent competitions." (Duh.)
As Scripps pointed out on their Facebook, the 32-year-old has since "managed to somehow survive by using his other talents!"
Timberlake's six Grammys and four Emmys can certainly attest to that.
