Philip Seymour Hoffman recently completed a 10-day detox program after admitting to taking prescription pills and snorting heroin, TMZ has learned.
The Oscar-winning actor, who had been clean for 23 years after previous struggles, checked himself into an undisclosed facility on the East Coast, where he stayed through Friday, May 24.
Hoffman credits “a great group of friends and family” for helping him through this latest struggle. He’s now back in Europe filming a movie, according to the report.
Hoffman, who won an Oscar in 2006 for Capote and was nominated again this year for The Master, will return to the big screen later this year in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. He has three children — Cooper, 10; Tallulah 6, and Willa, 4 — with costume designer Mimi O’Donnell.
