William and Harry Pop Over To Hospital To Check Up On Prince Philip

Today, Prince Harry and Prince William visited their grandfather, the Duke of Edinburgh at the London Clinic.  Prince Philip was admitted last week for a scheduled abdominal procedure, and is expected to remain there for at least another week.  After being released from hospital, the Duke will spend a few months convalescing.

The Princess of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, as well as Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, also visited the Windsor family patriarch.  Charles told members of the press that his father was doing “much better,” according to the Daily Mail.

The Duke’s eldest grandson, Peter Phillips, told the press last week that his grandfather “is one of those people who wouldn’t want you to stop just because he’s gone into hospital.”

Most members of the royal family (including the Duchess of Cambridge) are expected to attend tomorrow’s Trooping of the Colour.

Earlier this week, William hopped a Virgin Train in Anglesey, Wales en route to the capital.  According to the Huffington Post, the second-in-line carried his own duffle bag as he headed to the first class car.

More often than not, William and Kate opt for public transportation rather than private charters when traveling long-distance.  They flew from LA to the UK in July 2011 via a British Airways commercial flight, and flew back home from Zara Phillips’ Edinburgh wedding on an Easy Jet flight.
