Consider these reasons to get excited about Britney’s untitled project. And then consider these reasons to get hyped for Eminem’s untitled project.

Cast your vote for either Britney Spears’ or Eminem’s upcoming album, and read on for a further analysis of the results so far.

Two weeks ago, we began the 2013 Album Anticipation Showdown by asking you to vote for your most anticipated male album. Eminem triumphed over the competition with 69 percent of the vote.

He beat the likes of Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z, The Wanted, and Kanye West. And if our features on these albums is any indication, that was some tough competition!

Kanye West – Yeezus

Jay-Z – Magna Carta Holy Grail

Justin Timberlake – The 20/20 Experience Part II

Eminem – TBD (WINNER)

The Wanted – TBD

The battle for most anticipated female album was considerably more contentious, with more than 35,000 votes cast over the course of the week. Lady Gaga put up a good fight, but Britney Spears fans are not ones to let their queen suffer defeat. (Interestingly, after a strong showing initially, it became clear that Beyoncé, Miley Cyus, and Selena Gomez didn’t stand a chance.) Eventually, Britney regained her lead and was crowned our female champion.

Revisit our feature articles on each of the competing albums for some insight into these hotly-anticipated releases.

Beyoncé – TBD

Lady Gaga – ARTPOP

Britney Spears – TBD (WINNER)

Miley Cyrus – TBD

Selena Gomez – Stars Dance

It’s been a wild ride, but we’ve just about reached the end. There’s only one thing left for you to do: Vote!

In one week, we’ll announce the winner of the showdown and crown one album — either Britney’s or Eminem’s — the 2013 album you’re most excited to hear. So vote early, vote often, and don’t let your favorite down.
