Elijah Wood Drops $1 Million On Austin Home

Elijah Wood has ditched the L.A. scene for the Southern hospitality of Austin.

The child actor-turned-part-time DJ plunked down $1 million for a turn of the century Victorian mansion in the Lone Star State in December 2012, according to property records, Celebuzz has learned.

Earlier the same year, the Lord of the Rings hobbit, 32, who had been spotted for years in the Texas city before he made it permanent, sold his place in Santa Monica, Calif. for $1.75 million.

And now that the Wilfred actor is calling Austin home, his new digs come with some captivating curb appeal.

The 4-bedroom, 4-bath home was built in 1890 and features stunning designs elements.

The grand three-story manse is a roomy 3,285 square feet and comes with two of everything — two master suites, two dining rooms, two living rooms, and the most charming porches (perfect for sipping sweet tea and enjoying those summer days and nights.)

Inside is full of traditional details like long leaf pine floors, Italian marble in the kitchen and baths, and artisan custom-milled woodwork throughout. And, of course, it’s in one of the hippest areas of South Austin known as Bouldin Creek, only one mile from downtown and known for its live music scene, coffeehouse culture and artsy flair.
