Hear Beyonce Sing ‘On The Run’ Solo
Queen B is going solo again.
Beyoncé teamed up with her hip-hop husband Jay-Z for “Part II (On the Run),” a track featured on Hova’s highly-hyped album, Magna Carta… Holy Grail, which leaked online Thursday — the same day his latest record dropped via digital download.
Now Bey has flown free from her hubby’s coop: her solo version of the song has popped up online. The tune is largely the same as the couple’s collaborative “Part II (On the Run)” — the follow-up to their 2003 ditty “’03 Bonnie and Clyde” off Beyoncé’s Dangerously in Love album — but without the rap beat, feels a bit more mainstream R&B.
“Who wants that perfect love story anyway anyway/ Cliché, cliché, cliché,” Beyoncé croons. “Who wants that hero love that saves the day anyway/ Cliché, cliché, cliché.”
“I don’t care if we on the run, baby/ As long I’m next to you,” she continues, belting out her devotion to her husband. “I will hold your heart and your gun, I don’t care if they come. And if loving you had a price, I would pay my life for you.”
Take a listen to Bey sing “On The Run,” on her own, below. Lyrics are now available on Directlyrics.
