Fergie To Change Her Name To ‘Fergie Duhamel’

Birth names are so 2000-and-late.

The Black Eyed Peas artist what we all know as Fergie has has filed legal papers requesting to officially change her legal name to Fergie Duhamel, reports TMZ.

According to the documents, the songstress — born Stacy Ann Ferguson — wants to swap monikers to take her husband Josh Duhamel’s surname and “conform to the first name which she is commonly and professionally known as, and has been for many years.”

In order for the court to grant her request, the 38-year-old must publish a notice in a local newspaper for four consecutive weeks. The entertainment website reports that she’ll most likely get her name change if she completes her task by August 16, the day the hearing for the matter is scheduled.

Currently, Fergie and Duhamel, 40, are expecting their first child after four-and-a-half years of marriage.
