This Year's MTV Video Music Award Nominations Feature Coveted Category Presented by Taco Bell

MTV on Wednesday announced the nominees for its annual Video Music Awards, honoring everyone from Billboard heavyweights Justin Timberlake to Macklemore & Lewis.

Those guys actually led the pack with six nominations each, and will duke it out against Robin Thicke, Bruno Mars and Taylor Swift for the night's top prize, Video of the Year.

Other categories include "Best Video With a Social Message" (oh, you kids) and "Best Collaboration." There's also an "Artist to Watch" category that is somehow being presented by Taco Bell. That alone should be proof enough that the VMAs should have been axed about five years ago (or whenever The Pussycat Dolls won).
