One Direction Does Drag, Destroys an Office Building in New Music Video
One Direction is back with a new music video. The boys do some acting, some drag (specifically Zayn) and American accents; there’s something for everyone here.
The song, which follows almost the exact some plot-line as Tenacious D’s “Tribute,” is being used to promote their upcoming documentary One Direction: This Is Us, directed by Morgan Spurlock because everyone likes a paycheck every now and again. In the music video, 1D destroys an office building, which seems like a rather irrational reaction to someone suggesting you dress more like the Backstreet Boys.
But that’s not the important part. The important part is that, once again, there is no female love interest in this video. All One Direction songs are about women, but there are never any women to be found. Also, it looks like Louis is playing Tom Cruise playing Les Grossman in Tropic Thunder? Which, sure, do what you want, but it seems like sort of an odd reference to make, no? Like reference this character from five years ago that no one really remembers. Whatever, the video has already amassed more than a million views; the clearly these guys know what they’re doing, as they’re eager to remind us all in this video.
