Carole And Michael Middleton Visit Their Royal Grandson In Hospital
Carole Middleton has been talked about almost as much as her daughter since news of a royal baby broke last December. What kind of a grandmother would she be? Would she be overbearing and too controlling when it came to Great Britain’s future monarch? Would she duke it out with Camilla over who was the better granny? The last one is a toughie, given that the Duchess of Cornwall is only a stepgrandmother (and a sore reminder of Diana’s absence during this exciting time).
Surprisingly, Carole wasn’t present when the Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to a boy yesterday at 4:24 pm local time. It was expected that the Middleton matriarch would at least be inside the Lindo Wing when it happened, but that wasn’t the case. Instead, the new family were able to spend a few hours together before making their big announcement.
Today, Carole and Michael Middleton posed for a few photos before walking into the maternity wing, much like they did a day after the royal wedding outside the Goring Hotel.
The grandparents spoke briefly of their visit afterwards. “He’s absolutely beautiful,” Carole said. ” We’re so thrilled.”
When asked for a name, Granny Middleton replied, “Absolutely not.”
Members of the royal household were seen bringing a baby carrier and garment bag into one of the Lindo wing’s side entrances today, leading many to believe that the new family will leave hospital as early as this evening.
