Great Britain Celebrates The Arrival Of Will And Kate’s Son
Some having been waiting since the beginning of the month to welcome Baby Cambridge, whose gender was anyone’s guess up until just a few hours ago.
The United Kingdom rejoiced (just like in the old days) when it was announced that William and Catherine’s firstborn was a boy (8lbs, 6oz). The London Eye was lit up in red, white and blue colors and “It’s A Boy” beamed in bright letters from the BT Tower.
Kensington Palace made a last-minute decision to announce the baby’s gender before the notice was posted (per tradition) at Buckingham Palace. The palace also tweeted out the information before the post, something they insisted would not happen.

Not that this change in plans made any difference, because the city was electric with cheers and excitement over the heir to the British throne.
