Cory Monteith Visited Lea Michele On The Set Of This ‘Marie Claire Mexico’ Shoot Shortly Before His Death

Lea Michele’s latest Marie Claire Mexico spread has a whole other story to it, as this was one of the last few times the actress saw her boyfriend, Cory Monteith, alive.

Just a few weeks before his tragic passing in Canada, the actor showed support for his gal and surprised his Glee co-star with a visit to her cover shoot, which took place at the Crescent Hotel in Beverly Hills on June 7.

At the time, an elated Michele gushed about her beau on Twitter while the two had lunch, writing:

The 26-year-old’s happiness was also echoed in the cover’s accompanying article — due out July 30 — where she explained just why the couple worked so well together.

“It’s more interesting having a relationship with someone you work with because we get more attention because we play boyfriend and girlfriend on the show and we are also in real life. But he is the best person I know, he has made my life so incredible and I am so thankful for him and not only to have him as a partner but also as a coworker,” she said.

Sadly, Monteith passed away July 13 while staying at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel in Vancouver, British Columbia. The coroner later ruled the cause of death to be a lethal overdose of heroin and alcohol.

Michele has since been grieving alongside the late star’s family. According to Monteith’s father, the family had the 31-year-old actor’s body cremated.
