Cory Monteith’s Father: ‘I Have No Closure’

It’s been more than two weeks since Cory Monteith’s tragic passing and despite the coroner’s office official cause of death, his father is left with very few answers and even more questions.

“I still haven’t heard from Cory’s mother. I was ready to fly out to any place with one word,” Joe Monteith told Celebuzz.

“I tried to call when police came to my door to tell me my son was dead. I left messages to no avail.”

The rising star’s father originally told CB! that Cory was cremated in the days after he died of a toxic mix of heroin and alcohol in his Vancouver, BC hotel room July 13.

A private viewing was reportedly held with the Glee actor’s mom, Ann McGregor, brother Shaun and girlfriend Lea Michele. But Joe was not invited.

“There’s nothing I can do, I’m torn apart,” he said.

“It’s all been up to Lea and Cory’s mother.

“I have no closure and I won’t be getting closure by the sounds of it.”

But as Glee creator Ryan Murphy recently announced, a few episodes of season 5 will air in the fall, along with a tribute to Cory before taking a hiatus — so Joe be able to see his son again, which he is grateful for.

“Their decision to do a tribute to him I’m fine with. I am in support.”
