Johnny Depp Says Retirement ‘Probably’ Isn’t Too Far Away
“When you add up the amount of dialogue that you say per year, for example, and you realize that you’ve said written words more than you’ve actually had a chance to say your own words, you start thinking about that as an insane option for a human being,” Depp said while promoting his latest movie, The Lone Ranger.
Depp, who spoke of similar things to Rolling Stone in June, continued:
Are there quieter things I wouldn’t mind doing? Yeah, I wouldn’t mind that. I wouldn’t say that I’m dropping out any second, but I would say it’s probably not too far away.
Sure; but with at least three movies in the pipeline — the Rob Marshall musical Into the Woods (fine) and sequels to Pirates of the Caribbean (why?) and Alice in Wonderland (seriously, why?) — “probably not too far away” should be taken lightly.
So should that thing I just said about self-awareness, come to think of it.
