Just days after Katy Perry announced her fourth studio album, news of the breakout single for her upcoming record, Prism, has surfaced.
According to a press release posted on music forum Pop Justice, the song — titled “Roar” — will be released on the radio August 9 with its iTunes sales date slated for August 13.
However, Huffington Post is denying the rumors, reporting that Perry’s camp is insisting the press release was faked by a fan.
The song is reportedly produced by musical masterminds Dr. Luke, Max Martin and Bonnie McKee, who previously told Idolator that she had the first single from Perry’s new record.
Dr. Luke, who penned former Perry hits like “I Kissed A Girl,” “Hot N Cold,” “California Gurls,” and “Teenage Dream,” also dropped hits about “Roar” this week on Twitter, writing:
According to Perry, her boyfriend, singer John Mayer, will not be featured as a collaborator on her new album.
Prism is due in stores October 22.
