Dustin Hoffman Is ‘Cured’ After Undergoing Cancer Surgery, Says Rep
Dustin Hoffman is doing well after undergoing surgery to treat cancer, his rep revealed Tuesday.
“It was detected early and he has been surgically cured,” his rep Jodi Gottlieb told PEOPLE. “Dustin is feeling great and is in good health.”
Hoffman, 75, had not publicly revealed he had been diagnosed with cancer until now. His rep did not specify his type of cancer or treatments.
With surgery behind him, Hoffman will continue to go through doctor-recommended preventative treatments to reduce any chance of a recurrence down the line.
The Academy Award winner has spent the last year promoting his directorial debut, Quartet. After recently wrapping on Jon Favreau’s comedy Chef, he is set to begin shooting opposite Dame Judi Dench in BBC’s adaptation of Roald Dahl’s Esio Trot this fall.
