Who Does Cara Delevingne Turn to for Advice? Rihanna and Kate Moss, Of Course
But luckily for Cara Delevingne, she has some solid confidants to lean on when times get tough. At Fashion Week this year, when Delevingne's psoriasis — a skin condition that causes redness and irritation — acted up as she was on deck for the catwalk, it was Kate Moss to the rescue.
"Fashion Week ... is the worst time of the year for me to be covered in scabs. Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease, and I’m sensitive," Delevingne, who turns 21 today, says the latest issue of W magazine. "Kate saw me before the Louis Vuitton show at 3 a.m., when I was being painted by people to cover the scabs. She said, 'This is horrible! Why is this happening? I need to help you.' She got me a doctor that afternoon; Kate gives really good advice.”
And she's not the only one. Delevingne also has her pal Rihanna on speed dial for whenever she's in need of a pep talk, which happened during her recent Grecian getaway with her sister.
"I thought that would make me happy and relaxed. But when I stop everything, it’s really bad. I go crazy,:"the model recalled. "In Greece, it was a lot of couples, and I felt alone, which made me sad."
So she phoned someone she knew could relate. "I called Rihanna," she continued. "She said 'It's easy to drown yourself in work. That’s a form of escapism. So, if you're alone and you want to cry, cry.' And I did. But by then, it was time to leave and get back to my life."
