Former ‘Bachelor’ Star Gia Allemand Hospitalized In Critical Condition

UPDATE 6:16 PM PST: Allemand’s best friend Melinda Farina has tweeted that she is on life support: “#Deep #Prayers to my best friend @giaallemand who is in #ICU on life support right now.. I was justttt with her .. This makes me so so sad. Please everybody send good thoughts and strength her way.. She needs it more than ever right now!!”

She continued: “cause unknown thus far..could have been an adverse reaction to something..not quite sure yet.

“Everyone I will keep you posted if I hear anything further right now it’s not good-we all need to stay positive though she’s tiny but strong.”

 

Gia Allemand, who shot to fame after appearing as one of the 24 women vying for the attention of Jake Pavelka on The Bachelor in 2010, has been rushed to the hospital in Louisiana and is in critical condition, Celebuzz has learned.

According to a statement from her rep, the actress and reality star, 29, was taken to University Hospital in New Orleans “following a serious emergency medical event.”

No other details are available at this time.

A source close to the reality star tells CB! her condition is “not related to her health, disease or degenerative condition in any way. It’s not that sort of health issue.”

Allemand’s mother and boyfriend, NBA star Ryan Anderson of the New Orleans Pelicans, are by her side.

“On behalf of the family, we kindly ask for privacy at this time,” added her rep.

During season 14 of the popular ABC reality show, Allemand was the runner-up after Pavelka proposed to Vienna Girardi, who tweeted:
