Jennifer Garner Has No Interest in Being Called Mrs. Ben Affleck

Speaking with feminist undertones that would make Sydney Bristow proud, Jennifer Garner tells this month’s Allure she doesn’t want to be remembered as simply the wife of Ben Affleck.

“It’s a very conscious decision,” she says of her reasons for occasionally attending parties and premieres solo. “Sometimes it’s a pain because my heels are so high and it would be nice to have his arm. And he’s such a great date!”

“But it can be too much,” she continued. “I think especially for women, they can really lose their identity and just become ‘wife of.'”

She also says she would prefer not to work with Affleck, whom she married in 2005, on the big screen.

“Really, you don’t want to see a couple onscreen,” she said. “People see paparazzi shots of us together all the time. There’s no mystery … People are sick of us.”

Considering they met on the set of Daredevil, she probably has a point.
