Lady Gaga Unveils ‘Applause’ Lyric Video After Single’s Premature Release

Another day, another Lady Gaga announcement.

Following the singer’s rushed release of “Applause,” the Mother Monster has debuted the lyric video for the ARTPOP single.

Shot at gay nightclub Micky’s in West Hollywood, the three-and-a-half minutes long clip shows Gaga playing director as she films drag queens strutting their stuff down a catwalk.

The track was originally schedule to be released August 19 but was pushed forward a week in advance due to hackers leaking snippets of the song online. Declaring a state of “pop music emergency,” the 27-year-old officially debuted the tune this Monday.

Unfortunately for Gaga, her other ARTPOP track — currently debated as either titled “Burqa” or “Aura” — has also been leaked online. The “Born This Way” crooner’s secret duet with Cher also made its way onto the internet soon after.

For now, ARTPOP is slated to be released November 11.
