One Direction Premieres ‘This Is Us’ in London
Thousands of screaming teenagers took over the streets of central London Tuesday as One Direction debuted their much-anticipated documentary, One Direction: This Is Us.
The beloved British boy banders, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson, hit the red carpet amid teeny-bopper hysteria for the world premiere of their first 3D tour film in the famed Leicester Square.
An estimated 70,000 One Direction fans — hundreds of whom had camped out for days in advance — gathered in hopes of getting even just a glimpse of the teen idols, who stopped to snap pictures with their devoted Directioners and sign autographs.
Directed by Morgan Spurlock, the film goes behind the scenes of the five members’ rise to fame: starting from their humble beginnings, following their band formation by Simon Cowell on the X Factor U.K., to their soaring success as worldwide pop sensations and performing at London’s famed O2 Arena.
Cowell, as well as some of 1D’s fellow X Factor alumni like Little Mix, were on hand to celebrate the band’s big film debut.
