Lance Bass Has Bad News for *NSYNC Fans

Lance Bass
Most of the time my job is a blast. We talk about how much chicken Beyoncé eats together and everything is roses. But sometimes I'm forced to be the bearer of bad news. It's a heavy burden knowing that the words I write here will, no doubt, ruin your day, but somebody has to do it. And today is one of those days.

Ever since the rumor started that beloved boy band *NSYNC, Keepers of the "Pop," would be reuniting to perform at the MTV VMAs this weekend, everything has seemed a little bit better. The moon was brighter last night. I even think I noticed my hair was fuller this morning. But as all good songs must come to an end (after an exhilarating 3:58 in the case of "Pop") so, too, must all good rumors. On his SiriusXM show (which is literally called "Dirty Pop with Lance Bass"), Bass addressed the rumors. It's not good news.

Here is a transcript of his full statement:

"Now I have the address the rumors, of course. This morning I woke up to a lot of rumors flying that the *NSYNC reunion is happening after 11 years at the VMAs this Sunday. Well, let me tell you how this all came about. Justin Timberlake is getting the Michael Jackson [Video] Vanguard Award this Sunday at the Awards, so of course people are going to automatically think that we're going to be there performing, but this is exactly how it happened and I knew these rumors were going to fly. But we all came down here [to Miami] -- except J.C. [Chasez], J.C. stayed in California, he had to work -- but ... Joey [Fatone], Chris [Kirkpatrick] and myself went to go see Justin's last show with Jay Z at the stadium last Friday and I even took a picture of it, it's on my Instagram... really fun. And, of course, I think that's what started the rumor that there's going to be this big reunion. ... It's amazing to see the reaction out there, on Twitter and social media, of how many people really are supporting *NSYNC. It's just so nice to see because, you know, when we ended things 10 years ago, there was no social media, so, I mean, there was no Twitter fans, that type of stuff. But it's so cute to see how many people are supporting it, *NYSNC was even trending."
Does that sound like a guy who's been warming up his arm choreography in rehearsals all week? It doesn't to me either.
