Why Would Robert Pattinson Want to Move Out of This Landmark Los Angeles Mansion?

Well, besides the obvious (that his ex Kristen Stewart lives only a mere mile away), we don’t quite get why Robert Pattinson would ever think about saying adios to the Los Feliz hacienda that he’s called home since 2011.

Just take a look at the exclusive inside pics Celebuzz has obtained.

RPatz was rumored to be selling the restored 1922 landmark Spanish colonial estate in Aug. 2012 when he and Stewart hit a relationship rough patch (you know, when she was caught smooching behind his back with married director Rupert Sanders). But the two worked things out, only to call it quits yet again in May.

The laid-back thespian plunked down $6.2 million on the Cali compound that’s over 4,000 square feet inside and a whopping 66,000 square feet outside.

The museum-like manse boasts antique tile and stone, hand-carved wood and hand-stenciled ceilings, with a tropical (and heated) swimming pool, huge amphitheatre, waterfalls, fountains and a plethora of patio space.

And the digs have a storied Hollywood history to boot. Including calling Tim Curry and Noah Wiley former owners, just like out of a movie it has some cool secret doors and contraptions, according to Architectural & Historic Properties Specialist Richard Stanley. Built during Prohibition, there are many hideaways Pattinson is bound to have stumbled upon, like pushing a secret button only to find the liquor cellar or opening a hidden wall panel that leads to the chauffeurs quarters.

With this much vintage charm under one roof, the Twilight heartthrob has still reportedly gotten the hell out of Dodge (more than likely so he can stop dodging his ex) and is calling swanky 90210 his new zip code (for now), according to E! News.

The actor is apparently leaving the hipster vibe behind and leasing a gaudy French Mediterranean mansion in the Hills of Beverly for $15K a month — and he’s been able to leave his prized possessions where they are because this home away from home comes fully furnished (down to the linens.) So maybe he’s just testing the fancy waters in the Westside nabe?

But there are some similarities — it’s just as private as his full-time Los Feliz abode and privately located in a 24/7 guard-gated community with 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms, pool and spa.
