One Direction’s Record-Breaking ‘Today Show’ Visit Leads Today’s Star Sightings

Directioners were 18,000 strong on Friday morning, as the boys of One Direction took over the Today Show at Rockefeller Center.

Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and the newly-engaged Zayn Malik delivered a short and sweet set list, belting out gems including “What Makes You Beautiful” and “Best Song Ever.”

The crowd was a record for the Today Show. For context, Madison Square Garden holds some 19,000 when the New York Knicks play.

1D’s visit to the Big Apple coincides with the highly anticipated release of the group’s 3D documentary, This Is Us, due in theaters Aug. 30.
