Though its already making its rounds in the film festival circuit, the first full trailer for Kill Your Darlings — a biopic revolving around the Beat Generation literary movement — has just been unveiled.

Coming out of his Harry Potter shell, former child star Daniel Radcliffe is proving his all grown up by taking on the role of Allen Ginsberg — the famous poet was recently portrayed by James Franco in Howl and David Cross in I’m Not There — in the drama. (Though it seems like the actor has retained much of Harry Potter’s collection of frumpy sweaters and glasses.)

Set during Ginsberg’s years at Columbia University, the film centers around the 1944 murder committed by Beat staple and Ginsberg’s pal, Lucien Carr (Dane DeHaan). Ben Foster and Jack Huston adds to the ensemble as writers William Burroughs and Jack Kerouac respectively.

Also starring Elizabeth Olsen, Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Jason Leigh, the flick hits theaters Oct. 16.
