As if saving the world wasn't rewarding enough, Angelina Jolie now has an Academy Award to prove it.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced Thursday that the actress, who already nabbed a golden statuette in 1999 for her supporting role in Girl, Interrupted, will receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award -- an honorary Oscar -- for her charitable work.

As a special envoy for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Jolie will now join Jeffrey Katzenberg, Oprah Winfrey, Sherry Lansing, Jerry Lewis and Elizabeth Taylor as a recipient of the prestigious award.

Actor Steve Martin, actress Angela Lansbury and Italian costume designer Piero Tosi will also be given Oscars recognizing their career achievements this year. The presentation will take place as an untelevised ceremony on Nov. 16 at Hollywood & Highland Center's Ray Dolby Ballroom.

The Governors Awards pay tribute to individuals who’ve made indelible contributions in their respective fields,” said Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs. “We couldn’t be more excited for this year’s honorees and look forward to bringing their peers and colleagues together to celebrate their extraordinary achievements.”
