Kim Kardashian’s Hairstylist Dishes On Her New Blonde ‘Do: 'She Wanted A Drastic Change'

Do blondes have more fun?

Just ask Kim Kardashian, who just debuted a dramatic new hair hue.

And even though the new mommy is on baby North diaper duty night and day, she’s still dedicated some much-deserved time to think about her next fashion statement.

“She had been talking about going blonde for months to me, as well as on twitter and Instagram,” colorist George Papanikolas told Celebuzz. “She wanted a drastic change, like most women do after they have a baby.”

This isn’t the first time Kanye West’s naturally raven-haired baby mama has opted for lighter locks. In August 2009, she got people buzzing when she debuted her end of summer color change. Only this time, she decided blonder is better.

“It's much more blonde, and we wanted it to have an edgy modern look,” said Papanikolas. “We purposely left the roots dark to give a modern contrast.

“We looked at a lot of photos for inspiration, and loved one we saw on a model in a Vogue Espana editorial. It had deep roots, with a bright golden honey blonde. I'm sure we will play with the color in the coming months.

“She loves fashion and trying on new looks... being blonde is another fun fashion choice.”

And this hair guru made it mommy-proof.

“Keeping more depth at the roots definitely makes the re-growth much easier to maintain. It also makes it more modern," he added.

“Normally, I wouldn't recommend such a drastic color change because it can be unpredictable, especially when you are very dark. But I'm always open to a fun change, especially when the client is set on it.”
