Billy Ray Cyrus Wants You to Focus on Miley's 'God Given Talent,' Not Her Naked Body

Miley Cyrus' dad doesn't care that his daughter licking sledgehammers and riding wrecking balls in the nude.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, country crooner Billy Ray Cyrus says it's besides the point to focus on the former Disney star's naked body in her "Wrecking Ball" video, telling the show that it's all about the music. (So, here's a shameless promotion for you to check out her actual music on Directlyrics.)

"I'm a song man. A musician singer songwriter who loves all styles of music. But again ... I come from the old school where it starts with an artist and a song ... colliding if you will ... in a moment where the song, the singer, the producer, the band and the listener become one," he says.

"It wouldn't have mattered if Miley would have worn jeans and a flannel shirt ... a Tux ... or a nun's habit. The song's a smash ... and her performance vocally on the tune reflects her roots and sheer God given talent."

Miley previously echoed the sentiments herself during a chat with New York's Z100 radio station, saying that there's more to the Terry Richardson music video than just nudity.

"I think the video is much more, if people get past the point that I'm naked and you actually look at me, you can tell that I actually look more broken than even the song sounds," she said.

"The song is a pop ballad. It's one of these songs that everyone is going to relate to -- everyone has felt that feeling at one point ... it was a lot harder to do the video than it was to record the song. It was much more of an emotional experience."

Oh really Billy? WE need to listen to her talent not look at her nudity"?!! well tell her to sing a song in front of a mic fully dressed. It's not the public that needs to do anything,it's the artist job to make sure we DO listen to the talent and your slutty daughter distacted us from doing so.BTW, she sure has those moves down pat for only 20yrs old.Is that Gawd given trait too? nasty

If you asked me, he, as her father, has no business looking at this video in the first place. It's a little pervy if you ask me. Tell that girl to put some clothes on already! Stop looking at her paycheck and start looking after her well being, Billy! Oh, and for the record, Achy Breaky Heart was an accident, not musical genius.

I'm sure more people would listen if it didn't seem more like pornography with music as a bonus, not the focus. She knew that would be the case when she decided to do it. Anything Miley is now forbidden in my home, she is no role model for anyone except perhaps the xrated film industry.

Actually Billy Ray, it would matter if she wore jeans and flannel, because she wouldn't have been talked about as much or had near the amount of views. If Miley was so confident about the music by itself, she wouldn't need to do all these antics to get people to listen to her
