‘Mad Men’ Pulls a ‘Breaking Bad,’ Final Season to Air in Two Parts
It’s going to be a long goodbye.
AMC has announced that the seventh and final season of its critically-acclaimed drama, Mad Men, will air in two seven-episode parts. The first half of the season, which is dubbed “The Beginning,” is slated to air spring 2014. The second installment — “The End of an Era” — will air in spring 2015.
Avid AMC viewers will know that the network has already pushed out this format for Breaking Bad‘s final season.
“We plan to take advantage of this chance to have a more elaborate story told in two parts, which can resonate a little bit longer in the minds of our audience,” showrunner Matthew Weiner said. “The writers, cast and other artists welcome this unique manner of ending this unique experience.”
Sure, and not just a ploy to toy with our hearts, right?
