Kate Winslet Likes Her Last Name, Thank You Very Much

Kate Winslet won’t be pulling a Jessica Biel or Fergie anytime soon.

The British actress likes the name she was born with, even though her third husband is someone named Ned Rocknroll.

I was never going to change my name to Rocknroll,” Winslet recently told The Telegraph. “I’ve never changed my name to anything so I didn’t see a reason to start now.”

Winslet and Rocknroll tied the knot in December 2012 more than one year after meeting on his uncle Sir Richard Branson’s private resort. The 37-year-old actress’ first husband was director Jim Threapleton. She was also married to director Sam Mendes from 2003 to 2010.

“I quite like Kate Winslet; in fact I think it’s very flashy,” said Winslet, who is pregnant with her third child (her first with Rocknroll).

“I’m proud of my name because I’m one of three girls and we have one boy in our family so essentially the only person who is going to carry the name along is my brother and he doesn’t have any children at the moment.”

So we clear? Don’t call her Mrs. Rocknroll if you ever bump into her, no matter how cool the name sounds.

Winslet’s next film, coincidentally titled Labor Day, will have a limited release in December before opening across the country in January 2014.
