With exactly two weeks to go before Glee’s Cory Monteith tribute episode, show creator Ryan Murphy has unveiled a special goodbye banner for the late actor.

On Thursday afternoon, Murphy shared the following message with his 565,000 Twitter followers:

Monteith, who played the beloved Finn Hudson on the FOX series, died in July from a toxic mixture involving heroin and alcohol.

The 31-year-old actor was remembered during a special tribute on the Primetime Emmys telecast last weekend.

His death is a reminder of the rapacious and senseless destruction that is brought on by addiction,” co-star Jane Lynch said during the segment. “We remember Cory for all he was and mourn the loss of all he could have been.”

Glee season 5 premieres on FOX tonight with the first of two Beatles-themed episodes. The show’s third episode, titled “The Quarterback,” is scheduled for an Oct. 10 air date.
