Marc Jacobs Shows His Last Collection With Louis Vuitton

With Kate Upton sitting atop a midnight black horse inside Le Carre du Louvre, Marc Jacobs watched as his Spring/Summer 2014 creations walked down the runway.

This was Jacobs’ final collection for Louis Vuitton, a position he’ll be leaving after sixteen years to focus on his namesake brand with business partner Robert Duffy.

“This [Marc Jacobs] brand has an enormous potential all over the world,” LVMH chairman and CEO Bernard Arnault told Women’s Wear Daily.  “To materialize this potential, we decided together within the next two or three years, to do an IPO. This requires a lot of investment on our side, a lot of management on our side, and a lot of personal investment for Marc and Robert to really give the input, both creatively and communication-wise on the brand, all over the world. So it will take a lot of the energy of both of them.”

According to Marie Claire and Vogue, Balenciaga’s Nicolas Ghesquiere is rumored to be taking over position as creative director.

Today marked the end of Paris Fashion Week, with several stars going to both the Vuitton show and Miu Miu.
