‘Gravity’ Grosses $17.5M on Opening Day, On Pace to Win Weekend Box Office
Gravity grossed some $17.5 million on opening day Friday and is on pace to finish the weekend in the $50 million range, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The 3D space spectacle, directed by the great Alfonso Cuaron, finished Friday miles ahead of last week’s topper Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 ($4.7 million) and Justin Timberlake and Ben Affleck’s thriller Runner, Runner ($2.75 million).
“There’s no control. I was always out of my element,” Bullock recently said of the filming process. [via PEOPLE]
“I learned so much on a daily basis. And I just went, Wow, isn’t that funny how being miserable every day physically and then emotionally because of work then turns — makes you open to whatever is coming your way.”
