Too Many Plebs Have Been Allowed Into the Met Ball
It’s been decided by those prettier than us that tickets to the MET Costume Institute Gala must increase by $10,000.
Sources tell Page Six that admission to the year’s most exclusive ball is rising from $15,000 per ticket to $25,000. The event’s organizers, which include Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, reportedly want to make it that much harder for people who don’t belong at the gala to attend.
“Increasing the ticket price will make the Met Gala even more high-fashion, even more exclusive and even more aspirational,” the source said.
The 2014 Gala will open an exhibit celebrating American couturier Charles James. Aerin Lauder will chair the May 5th event with co-chairs Bradley Cooper, Oscar de la Renta, Sarah Jessica Parker, Lizzie and Jonathan Tisch and Wintour.
