Hokay, it appears everyone jumped the gun on this Winter Whites Gala that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were reportedly going to co-host on November 26th.
Despite HELLO!‘s initial reports of the fundraising dinner, to be hosted at Kensington Palace, were corrected today when an official confirmation from the palace stated that Prince William would attend. No mention of Catherine was a clear indication that the new mother was sitting this extravagant event out.
Both Taylor Swift and Jon Bon Jovi are expected to perform at the event, and William will present the New Jersey-born signer with the Centrepoint Great Britain Youth Inspiration Award for his humanitarian work.
Royal reporters put to rest speculation as to why Catherine wouldn’t be attending the gala. Richard Palmer from the Daily Express tweeted to me that Her Royal Highness “was never confirmed.”
‘When HELLO! first wrote about the event, I was advised details had not been finalised,” he wrote, adding that the royal couple “have a baby to look after and neither is a fulltime working royal.”
The Duke left the armed services in September, but aides stress that he is treating the next twelve months as “transitional,” meaning he is not officially a full-time royal.
Per Centrepoint the inclusion of the Duchess’s name on the Winter Whites Gala invitation was an error. She was never scheduled to attend.
