Disney Presents: Angelina Jolie's Cheekbones, or, the 'Maleficent' Teaser

Disney has released a teaser for the upcoming Maleficent, the story of the Sleeping Beauty villain, played by Angelina Jolie. While the poster Disney released yesterday was scary, we didn't even get to see the best part: her cheekbones.

The teaser is narrated by Elle Fanning, who plays Princess Aurora, and though it's very short, the climax comes when the two come face-to-face. "Don't be afraid," Aurora coaxes. "I am not afraid," Maleficent replies. "Then come out." Jolie purrs in response: "Then you'll be afraid." It's a great moment and sure to drum up some excitement for the film, which won't be released until next May. Aside from that, Disney has included plenty of imagery from the original Sleeping Beauty, such as the thorny branches Maleficent uses as weapons and the spinning wheel needle that puts Aurora to sleep.

While the teaser gives every reason to be excited, there are some causes for concern. Disney recently called in John Lee Hancock, the director of Disney's upcoming Saving Mr. Banks, to write scenes to be reshot. However, if the tone of this teaser is to be trusted, we're in for some creepy (and maybe even a little bit campy) fun.
