Hugh Jackman Diagnosed with Skin Cancer, Don’t Worry He’ll Be Fine
According to the Australian Cancer Counsil, two in three Australians will be diagnosed with skin cancer by the age of 70. And just because he played Wolverine doesn’t mean Hugh Jackman can’t be a statistic.
Via Instagram, Jackman has shared the news that he was diagnosed with skin cancer and had to have some skin on his nose removed.
The photo bears the caption: “Deb said to get the mark on my nose checked. Boy, was she right! I had a basil cell carcinoma. Please don’t be foolish like me. Get yourself checked. And USE sunscreen!!!” Basil-cell carcinoma is the most common form of skin cancer and is rarely fatal. However, it can cause disfigurement to the skin and should be removed.
So, the next time you’re swimming in the Great Barrier Reef (or battling Viper), remember the SPF.
