Miley Cyrus Performs 'Wrecking Ball' in Front of a Giant Cat, Wins the Internet

Miley Cyrus has proven she knows how to get attention and, lo and behold, she's done it again: closing the American Music Awards Sunday night by performing "Wrecking Ball" with a giant lip-synching cat. It feels a lot like a fever dream, but there's video to prove it actually happened.

Miley hit the stage wearing some giant lucite accessories as a cat who's memorized all the words to "Wrecking Ball" (like the rest of us) flew through space behind her. Even as I type the words I start to second guess whether or not it really happened. But it did!

The performance was notably more subdued than her instant classic VMAs performance this year and, if you can get past the cat (I just checked again... still there), the performance showcases her vocals quite nicely. Though there's a nice nod to that performance at the very end.

Lyrics for the song are now on Directlyrics.

It's amazing the envy, jealousy and resentment caused Miley Cyrus. But getting to the lowliness and meanness to deny that the girl has talent? Certainly there are many artists who have not had the economic resources nor the sponsors or the means to help them develop their own talent. But blaming Miley has someone feels artistically frustrated? I have read many who "proclaim themselves artists" criticizing Cyrus but they forget that this girl was already rich and had more musical culture, since it was gestated in the womb of his mother, some of those who dare to disturb her with pathetic insults

I made it to 0:21 and nearly got ill, couldn't take it anymore. Clearly this is what Miley Cyrus is capable of artistically when she's left to her own devices and doesn't have Disney pulling her strings, which basically means she's majorly untalented and it's now on display for the world to see. Thank goodness I do not listen to pop drivel, only real music made by real musicians. If you aren't sitting at a piano or playing an instrument you are not an artist. Personally, I'll wait for Sarah McLachlan's new album. Miley, the Justins, Rihanna and all the rest of the no-talents can keep cranking out their crap-filled auto-tunes - lord knows, the sheep of America will buy it.
